Travel price safety device marks a legal protection of the traveler after German right, so that it gets its prepaid travel price back in case of a loss of the organizer at least. In order to protect holiday-makers against financial disadvantages, the legislator organizer of journeys and cruising power outputs obligated to lock an insolvency insurance in favor of the prepaid Kundengelder. For this purpose so-called Reisepreis-Sicherungsschein is to be handed out to the customer before payment. Alternatively the organizer can secure the travel price opposite the customer also by a bank guarantee.
The travel price safety device does not intervene only if it concerns a package tour ("whole of cruising power outputs", "§ 651a BGB), thus in case of of individually booked cruising power outputs (e.g. flight or course travel, hotel accommodation).
Are refunded in case of an insolvency of the organizer the paid travel price, other booked cruising power outputs as well as necessary expenditures, which develop for the traveler due to inability to pay of the organizer for the return journey.
In accordance with the European Union package tour guideline, which is converted since 1994 also into German right, the laws are regulated in "§ 651kBGB.
The security applies both to tour operators and to travel mediators.
