The German old age pension insurance Baden-Wuerttemberg is the largest regional carrier of the German old age pension insurance. It followed legally independently and from the earlier national insurance office (LVA) Baden-Wuerttemberg, which resulted again on 1 January 2001 from fusion of the LVA bathing (Karlsruhe) and LVA (Stuttgart). It has its head office in Karlsruhe and a seat in Stuttgart.

In the so-called capacity range (responsible for pension, affairs of contribution as well as vocational and medical rehablitation) altogether 18 regional centers exist, from which half in the regions and the other half at the head office and seat are. Besides still 18 further branch offices (Auskunfts and advisory boards) exist. Since 1 October 2005 the German old age pension insurance Baden-Wuerttemberg, like each regional carrier, is responsible for the consultation of all insured ones in the legal old age pension insurance.
