The factor of kind of pension determines the pension height since 1 January 1992 within the pension formula of the German old age pension insurance in dependence of the different safeguard goals of the kinds of pension.

The factor of kind of pension is specified to 67 in "§ the sixth book social legislation.

The factor causes that pensions with wage spare function (e.g. old-age pensions) are higher despite same underlying payment of fees than pensions with wage subsidy function (e.g. pensions wg. full acquisition reduction) or maintenance spare function (e.g. widow's pensions).

The factor of kind of pension amounts to for personal points of payment

• Pensions because of age 1,0
• Pensions because of partial acquisition reduction 0,5
• Pensions because of full acquisition reduction 1,0
• Pension because of inability to work 0,6667
• Pension because of disability 1,0
• Educating pensions 1,0
• small widow and/or widower's pensions up to the end of the third Kalemdermonats after the death month 1.0, afterwards 0,25
• large widow and/or widower's pensions up to the end of the third calendar month after the death month 1.0, afterwards 0.6 and/or 0,55
• Half orphan's annuities 0,1
• Full orphan's annuities 0,2.

For the personal points of payment in the knappschaftlichen old age pension insurance "§ 82 SGB VI specify higher factors of kind of pension:

• Pensions because of age 1,3333
• Pensions because of partial acquisition reduction 0.6 and/or 0.9 or 1,333
• Pensions because of full acquisition reduction 1,3333
• Pensions for miners 0,5333
• Educating pensions 1,3333
• small widow and/or widower's pensions up to the end of the third Kalemdermonats after the death month 1.3333, afterwards 0,3333
• large widow and/or widower's pensions up to the end of the third calendar month after the death month 1.3333, afterwards 0,7333
• Half orphan's annuities 0,1333
• Full orphan's annuities 0,2667.

The higher pensions of the Knappschaftlichen old age pension insurance are justified in the fact that they contain components of a Zusatzleistung.
