If the employer gives a promise on achievements of the company pension scheme to its employee, then it concerns a direct promise or a direct supplying promise, if no other execution way were selected.

With the direct promise the employer has to furnish the achievements of the company pension scheme and avails itself not of an external execution way (direct insurance, pension fund, relief fund, or pension fund), is called the employer disburses the operating pension later to the then former employee.

The direct promise in the claim phase of the coworker is financed over fiscal pension resetting ("§ 6a EStG, "§ 249 HGB). The annual supply are reducing and, since they lower thereby the fiscal charges of the enterprise, liquidity increasing profit (internal financing, tax respite).

During the reference time further pension resetting are to be formed. The fiscal fractional value is in the future still in this time the statistical bar value that to furnishing pension achievements. Since this bar value sinks in each year (except possibly in the years, in which the pensions are adapted), comes it then to profit increasing, and thus the fiscal charges of the enterprise increasing, dissolutions of the resetting. In order to be able to finance the pension payments, capital payment or biometric risks, many employers lock corresponding back covering insurance (certain form of a life insurance).

Direct promises must be secured by the pension safeguard association against insolvency of the employer.
