A confidence indemnity insurance (VSV) protects enterprises against financial damages from bad actions, which are committed by employees or other men of confidence of the enterprise. In addition belong fraud, suppression, theft, unfaithfulness, damage, sabotage or other deliberate bad actions, which obligate after "ยง 823 BGB to the compensation. Are replaced usually both damage, which develop for the enterprise, and damage, which are added third.
According to the police Kriminalstatistik came it in the year 2004 into Germany to altogether more than 1 million cases of damage with a total damage sum of 6 billion euro. Euler Hermes credit insurance estimates that of the enterprises concerned of it approx. 40% were caused by coworkers. After an inquiry of Ernst & Young the ratio amounts even to approximately 50%.
Many enterprises fear image damage by becoming known such defraudations. For this reason a majority of the cases is not made public. The German insurance companies and institutes for management consultation estimate the dark number on approximately 50%.
According to estimates of the insurers more largely becoming material bottlenecks lead and a rising value loss sinking loyalty in relation to the enterprise. Lead at the same time restructuring, fusions, increasing anonymization or slim management (lean management) increased to safety gaps, which make the bad actions only possible.
